November 15 – 21, 2021 is the 7th Annual National Apprenticeship Week. This yearly celebration is an opportunity for all of us to reflect on the impact apprentices have on our industry.
Apprentices might be junior team members, but they bring incredible value. As full-time employees, they bring their great work to every project while learning on the job and preparing for a long-term construction career. Though each apprenticeship occupation has its own standard training outline, the Registered Apprenticeship Program model is a proven, industry-driven training method that provides a critical talent pipeline to help address our current labor shortage.
National Apprenticeship Week is dedicated to honoring these successful programs that have helped rebuild the economy, advanced racial and gender equality, and supported underserved communities. Leaders nationwide will be hosting events to showcase the successes of their Registered Apprenticeship program, honor the hardworking apprentices, and educate the public on their impact, including local Ohio businesses and organizations.
