In our last Ohio Career Technical Center Highlight, we shared three Career Technical Centers from the Northeast Region out of the more than 50 Career Technical Centers throughout our state. These centers help Ohio high school students work toward their careers while completing their high school education and adult learners start their careers sooner with a 3- to 18-month training program. Today, we highlight three from the West Central Ohio Region.
Tri Star Career Compact located at 7655 State Route 703 Celina, OH 45822
Tri Star Career Compact combines the best parts of classroom work with hands-on training for both adult learners and high school juniors and seniors. No matter what age students start, they all gain the skills needed to prepare for the workforce in their desired trades.
Tri Star Career Compact’s high school program serves nine school districts in Mercer and Auglaize counties onsite in three locations. Their two-year programs provide the opportunity for free college credit while learning the practical skills to enter each student’s field of choice. For example, their construction program covers construction fundamentals, complete with a home construction project. Their welding program begins with the basics and is followed by more complex concepts and employability education.
They also offer adult education. Tri Star Career Compact’s adult courses vary throughout the year, so click here to see their current course offering. No matter the age of a student, as they say at Tri Star Career Compact, career technical education is the “equal choice, not the alternative choice”.
