As Ohioans statewide prepare to celebrate Valentine’s Day with loved ones, we would like to take the opportunity to share what industry members love most about working in our industry.
Efficient – and Enjoyable – Training
Before we dive into what makes working in the industry so wonderful, we must take a moment to highlight the unique education that prepares people for work on and off the jobsite.
When it comes to skilled trades, training costs less, both when it comes to time and money. Education can begin as early as middle school at a career and technical education (CTE) center and can extend through on-the-job apprenticeship training for adult learners. And, given the great demand, competitive salaries and impressive benefits packages are ready and waiting for newly trained talent.
Those who have gone through CTE or apprenticeship programs note how the real-world learning experience made them equal parts prepared and excited for their future.

A common misconception is that working in the construction industry means you’ll be stuck working a skilled trade on a jobsite. But physical labor is just one part of the industry. There are many hands that make every project possible before ground is even broken:

This brings us to our third and final reason why people love working in the industry.
