What was your path to a career in construction?
I have a bachelor’s degree in Architecture (pursuing my license). I’ve been working as a Project Engineer and enjoying a lot being in the field.
What do you like most about working in construction?
The versatility of architecture and the application of it to a large variety of projects.
Have you seen a change in the opportunities for women in construction over the course of your career?
Absolutely, I think I started seeing more volume of women working in the construction field since I moved to the states and it is always exciting meeting more and more women in construction.
If you were to give young women (high schoolers) advice about beginning a career in construction, what would you say?
I would start by making sure they really like the construction area, and offer them the options they could have, talking more about my experience might give them an idea of what they could expect.
