What was your path to a career in construction? My path to a career in Constructions started by watching my family have a heavy involvement in the construction industry. I chose to go to college for Civil Engineering Construction Management and then landed a spot as an Intern/ Co-Op for Beaver Constructors. I am still currently attending college to further my degree to follow the career path chosen.
What do you like most about working in construction? The thing I like the most about working in construction is having the hybrid dynamic of working in both the office and field. I love watching things being built and watching the progress.
This year’s theme is “Keys to the Future.” What is the key to the future of construction in Ohio? One of the keys to the future in the Ohio construction industry is recruiting field personnel into the industry. Many people are retiring in the trades, and not enough people are joining the trades to replace this number leaving.
If you were to give young women (high schoolers) advice about beginning a career in construction? Construction is a male based industry but do not let that push you away. You are just as valuable as they are. Always stay humble and always chase your dreams.
